KPI programmes

Record measurements and review progress

Add manual KPI values, review assessment results and use the programme status to decide what needs attention.

Updated 9 September 2026

Before you start

Open an active KPI programme. Your organisation needs Program or Enterprise access to record measurements. Check that you have permission to update the programme and that you know the measurement date, value and source.

Record a manual value

  1. Open KPIs and select the programme.

  2. Find the KPI you want to update. Check its title, owner, unit and target.

  3. For a manual KPI, select Record value.

  4. Enter the value and measurement date. Add the supporting explanation requested by the form.

  5. Save the measurement. Reopen the KPI and check the value and date shown.

Use assessment results correctly

An assessment source uses the relevant finalised assessment result. Do not type a replacement manual value just because that result is not available yet. Check the linked assessment and whether it has been finalised.

Review progress

Read the current value alongside the target, measurement date and trend. No data means a value is missing. It does not mean performance is zero.

Review On track, At risk and Off track statuses with the owner. Check how current the measurement is before deciding what action to take.

Correct mistakes carefully

If a value is wrong, use the available correction process and explain the change. Keep a record of why it was corrected. A new measurement should represent a new observation, not hide an earlier error.

KPI results track progress against targets. They do not change the scoring of an earlier assessment.
