Running an assessment

Review and finalise an assessment

Check an assessment, resolve outstanding requirements and create its final report.

Updated 9 September 2026

Before you start

Use an administrator account and open the correct assessment. Review its scope, answers and evidence. The organisation’s approval policy determines whether an administrator must approve it before finalisation.

Check readiness

  1. Confirm the assessment name, review period and scope.

  2. Check unanswered questions, explanations and evidence requirements.

  3. Review gates and red flags. Understand what each warning means. Do not change an answer just to remove a warning.

  4. Resolve any completion requirements shown by the app. If finalisation is unavailable, read the listed reasons.

Follow the approval workflow

If approval is required, select Submit for approval and follow the form. The assessment then waits for administrator review.

The assigned administrator uses Review and decide. Choose Request changes when corrections are needed. Choose Approve and finalise only after completing the review. Follow any requested identity check.

When approval is not required, use Finalise assessment once it is available. Read any methodology notice before confirming.

Check the final report

After finalisation, open Reports and confirm that the expected result is available. The final report records the assessment at that point in time.

Corrections and later reviews

Reopen for correction is for correcting the existing assessment. Start next assessment begins another review. Choose the option that matches your purpose. Keep the earlier result when you need to measure progress over time.
